Anyone who knows me knows what a huge Game of Thrones fan I am. Not only am a huge GOT fan, but I am also a huge fan of Ramin Djawadi who composes the music for the show.
This song is written about one of the leading characters Daenerys Targaryen aka the “Mother of Dragons” I am so excited to finally release this lyric video
A true labor of love….
I truly love this show, and especially this character. There was something so compelling about this character that really spoke to me. I really wanted to tell her story. I wanted to share her journey and transformation from a meek, young girl to the strong powerful woman that she became. I felt that her story is that of empowerment against incredible odds, and has been truly inspirational for me in many ways.
Bringing this song to life was a truly transformative journey, not only as an artist, but as a person. I put so much of myself into every step of this project.
The genesis, and evolution of this song coincided with my journey through the Music Industry and Recording Arts program (MIRA) at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg Florida.
This song began as one of my assignments in my songwriting class, the arrangements were written in one of my composition classes, and the recording, editing, and mixing were done in my final music production class as a class project.
As a music production student with a music composition focus I had a lot of resources at my disposal that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. In addition to the recording studios, composition & mix labs, I had access to wonderful musicians and amazing instructors that help me steer the ship.
Still taking an ambitious project of this magnitude was a daunting task, at times I wondered if I’d bitten off more than I could chew. My philosophy though has always been go big or go home. From the demo stage through to the final mix stage there were a lot of moving parts to manage. Between finding the right musicians, tracking all of the instruments, editing, and mixing over sixty tracks. All while meeting strict deadlines. My final grade was depending on the proper execution of all these stages.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to do it alone. I am so grateful to all of the people that so generously contributed to this project. Here are just a few of them.

Although my debut EP “The Gateway” is not due for release until later this year, I decided to release the lyric video early as a bit of an homage to everyone involved with creating the show, as well as all the other fans who love this show the way I do.#motherofdragons#gameofthrones
